Cameroonian
President, Paul Biya
has declared war on terrorist sect Boko
Haram stating that his administration would not relent until
the terrorist sect is totally wiped out.
Biya
made the declaration yesterday, October 13, while receiving 27 hostages, 10 Chinese and 17 Cameroonians, who were
supposedly kidnapped by Boko Haram.
The
president said:
“The Cameroonian government assures you that it will
ceaselessly continue to fight Boko Haram until it’s totally wiped out”.
A
source told AFP that a ransom was paid to secure the release of the captives
and that 20 Boko Haram members were also freed in exchange.
Cameroon
has suffered from terrorist attacks largely due to its expansive border with
Nigeria which also meets at some communities in the troubled Borno State.
