Little
Amina Agboola lost her life after being assaulted by her mother's boyfriend
20-year-old Dean Harris has been sentenced to spend the
next 17 years in prison after he was found guilty of murder.
Harris
kicked 2-year-old Amina
Agboola, his girlfriend's daughter, so hard that her liver tore
into two. The little girl was found lying like a rag doll after being thrown
across the room by the kick.
Harris,
who has a history of domestic violence was reportedly angered by the girl
because she kept soiling herself. continue...
The
convict had been dating the girl's mother for just 5 months when he was left
alone with her and caused her the injury which claimed her life.
Amina's
father, Reuben Agboola,
said:
'I am pleased with the sentence Dean Harris has received
today. However the grief feels like it has no end. 'I go through the motions of
living but inside I am somewhere else thinking about my daughter all the time.
'No one understands the pain except those people who are
experiencing it. My heart reaches out to every parent on earth who is suffering
the loss of a child.'
Harris
has been sentenced to life imprisonment and is expected to spend at least 17
years behind bars. The victim's mother, Sarah
Racqueman, was charged with child neglect but was acquitted of
Amina's murder.
