KCB Readers (9 Things To Do Immediately After Your Job Interview That May Guaranty Your Success)

1. Politely Request for a contact person you can do your follow ups with: Its not just enough to do a splendid interview and dash off, Politely ask the interviewer for a number you can call for further check up on your recruitment process.

2. Send a Thank you Mail to the HR for the opportunity: Most likely, you sent your CV through a mail or you were contacted through E-mails. Make sure you send a ‘thank you’ email for the opportunity.

3. Do an in-depth research of the Organization in the event of a call back: During your interview session, you must have been asked some questions about the firm that you didn’t know about. Or probably, some issues beyond your knowledge were raised. Take time to know more about the organisation. Know their direct and indirect competitors. If need be, do them a response mail, on questions you couldn’t answer during the interview. This shows your proactiveness.

4. Let your references know about the new job prospect: It won’t speak well of you, if by the time your referee’s are called and it takes them forever to remember who you are. So, give them heads up on your application so they are also ready.

5. Stick with Timelines and Deliverables: If you have been asked to get back to them on any issue or probably submit a completed resume, make sure you do it within the stipulated time frame.

6.  Avoid being a nuisance with your calls and follow up procedure: Now, too much of everything is not good. If you’ve called once, wait another week before you do. Don’t turn it to everyday phone call or mid night call or chasing them on whatsapp. Be wise about it.

7. Ensure that your social media account speaks well of you: Maintain a respectable social media account. Your employee might just decide to check you there and see what kind of person you are beyond the interview room.

8. Keep tabs on other places you have applied: Now don’t put all your eggs in one basket. There are other suitable people applying for that same job. You can only hope for the best.

9. Beware of the red flags: Know when to move on. If you’ve checked over and over and nothing positive comes up, accept it gracefully and move on.
