Hassan Rawayau, the Executive Secretary of Katsina State Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday revealed the havoc caused by flooding in the state.
Speaking to NAN in Katsina, at the opening of a 3-day workshop tagged: `Strengthening Sub-National Humanitarian Co-ordination’, the executive secretary revealed that over 200 people had been affected by flood in the state this year.
It was reported that the workshop
was organised by the Agency in collaboration with Coalition of Civil Society
for Poverty Eradication (CCSPE), an NGO. He said the affected people were
from Bakori and Musawa local government areas of the state.
Rawayau, who further revealed that
there was no loss of lives or any injury recorded during the misfortune said
the state government had distributed relief materials worth N5 million to the
victims as part of efforts to alleviate their plight.
