17 Things Only Nigerian Students Know To Be True As They Resume

As most schools open up on the 8th of October around Nigeria, we want to share some of the amazing characteristics of many students either in Primary, Secondary or Tertiary institutions across Nigeria. So these are 17 things only Nigerian students know to be true about their time in schools. Share with another student you know that agrees to these facts.

1. There is always an Owu period in school

2. Our lecturers make it seem like the particular course they are lecturing us on is the one that will help our destiny succeed

3. No matter how social you are, clubs, bars and hang out spots are a no go area during exam

4. Group late coming is the sweetest; afterall, I am not the only one to be punished

5. We all have that one person in class that has access to handouts but for some reasons, never shares it.

6. Coffee’s are a students best friend during the exams

7. Garri with or without groudnut will always save lives

8. Noodles are a great investment

9. We all have that one friend whose room is always smelling of food but you never see traces of the food no matter how long you spend

10. The neatness of a girl is defined not by her room (thanks to wall papers, rugs and barbie curtain) but by how the toilet looks when she’s done

11. We never trust the course rep who says a particular hand out costs a particular amount

12. That there are 3 types of person on campus, the party bangers, the classroom to church ones and the ones who don’t even know where they belong. Like they are always in their room 24/7

13. There is always that one ‘Jenifa‘ on campus

14. Straightening of hair with an Iron and a towel. Bobby’s won’t do a better job.

15. Never leave your washed cloth out too long otherwise, casper will visit them

16. Everytime you ask for school fees from your parents, they always ask if you aren’t supposed to be done with school yet

17. Our parents never fail to remind us to get done with school asap and get a job in an oil firm
