The
accident happened when a fully loaded fuel tanker fell; leaking its contents
which instantly caught fire, while trying to negotiate a bend.
The
fire also destroyed properties for millions of naira by which, according to one
of the market leaders, Alhaja Isuat Abiola Oyinlola, who counted the losses,
consumed about 45 shops, 13 vehicles, three houses, seven commercial
motorcycles, three commercial tricycles and several other items.
The
APC Director of Publicity and Strategy Olawale Sadare said the Molete inferno
was not only unfortunate but also devastating in view of the fact that Oyo
State “at the moment has a
government which prioritizes every pro-active measure required to guarantee the
safety and well-being of the people irrespective of their status or background.”
The

devastating.
He
has expressed sympathy families of those who lost their lives in a tragedy at
the Molete area of Ibadan, the state capital, praying that God will give them
the courage to bear the loss.
