The attempt by some powerful men to
smuggle $ 9.3million out of Nigeria in the guise of going to buy arms in a
country that was never informed of such business is causing so much
embarrassment to Nigeria.
Consequently, the Senate has
summoned the National Security Adviser (NSA) Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd), Chief of
Defence Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS)
Lt-Gen Kenneth Minimah over the money that has now been seized by the South
African government.
Chairman Senate Committee on
Defence, Senator George Sekibo, confirmed the move. He said:
“I have just called the Chief of Defence Staff, National
Security Adviser and Chief of Army Staff; I don’t want to pre-empt issues
because we have not heard details about it but they will be here on Tuesday
next week.”
