National Assembly Orders The Federal Execute To Declare War on BH

Following the uproar and emotions concerning the information provided by Senator Ali Ndume of Borno North Senatorial District on the attempt by the terrorist group to install their own Emir in the BH occupied town of Bama over the weekend

The National Assembly following its first sitting after a long recess ordered the Jonathan led Executive to mobilize all resources to declare war on the terrorist group.

The Lawmakers noted that the power and confidence of the group has grown in recent months following the inability of the Federal Government to repel the various terrorist activities carried out by the dreaded group.

The Senate President, David Mark presiding over proceedings yesterday touched on various pressing issues facing the polity. He opined that the time for trading blames or pointing fingers is long past and that Nigerians (every Nigerian) should put effort in battling the terrorist group.

He stated further that the activities of the terrorist group in the country can be related to the attack by a foreign enemy therefore it is high time for the Federal Government to go for all-out war against the insurgents mobilizing manpower and other resources needed to achieve total subjugation of the group.

He said further that Nigerians should focus on waging this war against the insurgents and that they should forget for now the issues relating to the 2015 General Elections in the Country.

When a motion was tabled on the floor of the Senate Chamber concerning the issues raised by the President (Senator David Mark), it was passed unanimously

The Lower House (House of Representatives) in the same mood also considered the state of insecurity in the country caused largely by the activities of the insurgents in the North and arrived at the same decision asking the Executive Arm of Government to mobilize and declare war on the group.

The Hon. Tambuwal led House of Representatives promised to send a delegation to meet with the President concerning the threats posed by the insurgents.

We just hope that the motions adopted by both arms of the Legislative are not just a means to talk the talk and not walk the walk. But rather, this is the time that the Lawmakers should adopt a talk-less & do-more policy when it comes to pressing societal issues.
