Ebola Virus Nurse Bitten By Patient Flown To Switzerland



The nurse was attending to a patient when he got bitten and he has been flown to Switzerland as a precaution

According to reports, a nurse who was working in Sierra Leone to aid efforts against Ebola has been bitten by a patient. AP reports that the unidentified health worker with an international organization was bitten by a child who was infected with the disease.

Swiss authorities have reportedly said that the man has been flown to Switzerland as a precaution.
The nurse was wearing the requisite protective gear when he was bitten so he is unlikely to have contracted the disease.

He will be reportedly be kept under observation at Geneva's University Hospital for the incubation period of three weeks.

The current Ebola outbreak has claimed over 2800 lives with Sierra Leone being one of the worst hit countries.
