The
duo were caught in an attempt to divert sensitive voting materials meant for
tomorrow's election
The police in Osun have arrested 2 officials of the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after they were caught in
illegal possession of voting materials.
The
duo were attached to the Obokun
Local Government Area of the state and one of them is said to
be the Electoral Officer.
Preliminary
investigations showed that the latter had been communicating with a chieftain
in the area but the suspects are yet to reveal the identity of their sponsor.
The
Osun Governorship elections are set to hold tomorrow with the major candidates
being the APC's Rauf
Aregbesola, the incumbent, and PDP's Iyiola Omisore.
